Thanks Fadi.. I just noticed that my brain and my fingers are not connected. The last sentence was supposed to be: "I think I am with the category HALF way between the two!"

"incremental innovation should not be too minor, and radical innovation should not be too far"

I guess that Amers summed it all. Both types of innovation are necessary for the revolution of the web. A newly fresh thing can be a really pleasant experience but an imporvement of an existing service can be pleasant as well :)

Well, from my point of view, gradual-improvements are more natural to the mind. There are many services that were launched and failed, but when relaunched a few years after, became a large success. I cannot recall an example now, but I know I read it somewhere.

The point being, radical innovation, means radical change to the norm we are all used to. As exciting this may be, it also has the disadvantage of being hard to explain to the end user in a couple of sentences (an elevator pitch).

I do see the distinction, but I do not have a side. My opinion is that incremental innovation should not be too minor, and radical innovation should not be too far and extreme from the norm. I think I am with the category have way between the two!

Great post... :)

Hello all,

I was discussing the above article's topic with a friend a few hours ago. I was surprised to find out that he highly believes in incremental innovation and places a very high value on it. He defended it severely throughout our discussion and said, and I quote: "Incremental innovation is a must and everything is built on it."

Well, I urged him to read my article and take a look at the links I have provided to show him that there are different sides of each coin and there is a much more valuable and worthy type of innovation: radical!

I don't know if he did or not, yet, I am confident that no one can formulate a sound opinion regarding any topic without having researched it enough!

That's my advice for today :)
