Facebook: Facts and Figures Infograph [image]

Now the fact that Facebook has a lot of users, more than 400 million of them, is pretty well known by now but there are some more startling figures that are included in this infograph by Website-Monitoring.com.

Some of the more interesting figures are that more than 50% of active users log on to Facebook on any given day. That must put quite a bit of load on Facebook’s servers and it’s surprising that you can’t remember the last time that Facebook was offline or crashed. That is amazing!

Imagine if a marketer has your attention for an entire hour every day? What could they do with it? Facebook has the attention of its average user for an entire 55 minutes a day and people go ahead and even access it from their mobile phones as well. That opens the space for Facebook to really be on its users’ time all the time, and should be able to capitalize on it. That is the other thing, with so many users in so many countries, Facebook has created business opportunities for over 1 million developers and entrepreneurs in 180 countries to make Facebook innovations more focused and locale thus allowing it to address niches while still being a big company.

Hope you found it as interesting as we did, and if you did, let us know about it in our comments section ;)

“Some of the more interesting figures are that more than 50% of active users log on to Facebook on any given day.” WOW! The Facebook team did manage to do what's right to grad a big portion of its active users' time! Though this is a breakthrough, it is kind of scary as well! I wonder, how much of my actual attention they grab per day!

    Great share! Thanks!

Is it just me or does it seem like usage has gone down despite what all of the statistics show. It seems none of my Facebook friend's are on that often. Maybe they just check other people's profiles and that is it – not update their status or anything. Just an observation.
