What They Did:

The developers of this addictive game went out of their way to make sure that the social element is present, effective and even “seductive” by applying these two brilliant social media strategies:

1. Competition

They give you the option to compete against friends for bragging rights so you are inclined to invite your friends to a challenge…

“Teamwork” is definitely an interesting way to do it. It's proven to work, just like the neighbour feature of Farmville. You help your friend, and get help in return.

But can't this teamwork also allow for sabotage? Not everybody plays fair! In the end, there are cheaters in every game. You help me, I don't help you, and I get more point to wave in your face.

I didn't play the game much, but it's just a thought. Could it happen, Beirut?

I guess it could, depending on the degree of evil thoughts your mind is capable of producing :P

On a more serious note, I think that the challenge feature is there for competitive players and the tournament is made for friends who plan to pull their efforts together to nail another group they might or might not know.
