The Zimmer Twins: Taking Story Telling to A Whole New Level!

Have you ever watched Dexter’s Laboratories on Cartoon Network? Did you ever wish that the ending of an episode was different? Or maybe that the characters could do more?

Well, wishing time is over, at least when it comes to Jason Krogh’s and Aaron Leighton’s Zimmer Twins!

The Zimmer Twins

The Zimmer Twins is a site devoted to kids and creative storytelling. It invites children to create and share their own animated stories.

“I wanted the characters to have a balance, being completely normal kid in one sense but at the same time, having an air of mystery about them on account of the psychic element.”– Aaron Leighton, Creative Director

Today, the site boasts an amazing group of Zimmer Fans — creative kids who continue to surprise and delight their peer audience with innovative movies. Using the Zimmer Twin’s easy-to-use movie making tools members create their own serials, commercials, music videos and even reality shows. Since 2005 over one million Zimmer Twins movies have been created by kids from around the world.

For more details on the idea and objectives of this site, you can watch the Making of the Zimmer Twins below:

So, after reading this information and watching the clip, I’d like to ask you a few questions:

How do you think this idea promotes the way kids learn online? How valuable do you see it for kids’ growth and development? What more could be done to make its effect more sustained and effective?

Looking forward to your feedback and insights down below…
