Got a Minute To Fix Urban America?

Connecting the denizens with their representatives is one of the foundations of democracy, and currently one of the best ways a citizen can communicate his problems, issues and concerns is through a town hall meeting. However, to be able to attend town hall meetings, you will have to dedicate the time and the energy to do so and hence only the people who are truly affected by an issue, or are on the polar extremes of it, end up making it to the town hall meeting.

Therefore, instead of establishing a calm environment for discussion and achieving a representative opinion on an issue, we have a very likely situation in which the debate is reduced to screamed sound bites.

Got a Minute?

To tackle this issue and to be gather a more representative opinion on issues concerning the urban citizens of the United states, the Give a Minute! Campaign has been lunched in Chicago at the end of December with plans to spread to Memphis, NY and San Jose.

Ken’s Campaign to Win Barbie’s <3

How come I didn’t receive the memo about this? Apparently, Ken and Barbie have broke up in 2004. The Malibu girl opted for a surfer dude called Blaine breaking Ken’s heart and now, 7 years later, Ken has finally forgave party and has launched a social media campaign to win the heart of his beloved again by Valentine’s day.

What is it about?

Ken and Barbie are an iconic couple; if you look-up the definition of the word, you’ll find Ken & Barbie written next to it. She dropped him like the accessory that he is for a surfer toy boy. If she didn’t run off with Blaine, Ken and Barbie would have been together for 50 years but Ken has a forgiving heart is leaving it up to the fans to decide whether they should get back together or not. By visiting Facebook.com/barbie you will be able to vote on whether or not they should give it another shot.

The campaign is partly done to promote the new sweet talking Ken toy.

HOW TO Hack Facebook & Protect Yourself

Back in October a little innocent Firefox plugin was released called Firesheep. This plugin was release to make it public that stealing your account on Facebook can be as easy as stealing candy from a baby.
Websites like Facebook, Twitter and many others send user information, usernames and even passwords over an insecure HTTP connection utilizing cookes on user’s computers. If anyone was able to get their hands on that cookie they would be able to “impersonate” you on that website. That is exactly what Firesheep allows you to do.
