Ad agency, Amsterdam Worldwide, unveiled a series of blogger films, called “Visual Life,” for technology brand Intel back in January 2011. The series showcased top bloggers discussing how they use technology and how it has transformed their work.

Campaign Idea & Buzz:

The first video of the series documented the work of fashion blogger and photographer Scott Schumann, The Sartorialist. The video generated around a quarter of a million views in its first two weeks and has been viewed more than 850,000 times on YouTube and the Intel site, helping increase Intel’s YouTube channel views by 200%.

More and more people are watching TV on the web through Youtube and Hulu. This phenomenon proved everyone wrong in the television industry because they believed people will not sit to watch an hour long show on their computer screens. That comes naturally to all industries, they are just too slow to react to revolutions in technology. The music industry is still fighting tooth and nail to maintain its hegemony on distribution and wrestling with iTunes over pricing and control.

So, naturally, television production studios and companies will try to head towards the same track as the RIAA and the music industry and try to fight the evolution. In the end, it only helps alienate their customers and shows them for their true colors. A bunch of greedy and hypocritical fat cats. A prime example of that hypocrisy is the legal fight between Youtube and Viacom.

Wi-Fi (R)evolution: The End of Bluetooth?

The Wi-Fi alliance which includes Apple, Microsoft, Cisco and Intel amongst its members announced that they will release a new technology that will make it easier for electronic gadgets to exchange data. The technology will be called Wi-Fi Direct, which will allow each device to act as its own “hotspot”.
