5 things that really shouldn’t be on Facebook!

Facebook is a wonderful place; it is absolutely filled with all sorts of information and some of that should NOT be shared publicly.

Using a combination of Openbook , a website that lets you search Facebook’s status updates, and the consultation of the nosy people of the neighborhood, we came up with the 5 things that should not be publicly shared on Facebook.

1. Phone numbers

If you have a new phone number, how about an SMS to everyone you know for the update? Or if you can’t help but do it on Facebook, at least use messages rather than posting your phone number where the entire world can see it.

Who should I prank call?

Best “Server Down” Message Ever. Kudos to Grooveshark!

I was just surfing to Gooveshark to listen to a crazy song* stuck in an infinite loop in my head. If you don’t know what Grooveshark is, it’s one of my favorite websites to listen to on-demand music online.

Today, I got their server-down message. But, it’s not your regular “server is down” message, thus this post!

If you’re geeky like me, you’re going to love this. Here it goes… meet Pickles:

I found this hilarious and just had to share it. I guess the fact that I felt the need to share it, makes it social-media related. Seth Godin’s definition of the word “remarkable” pops to mind.

Makes you wonder: if something as simple as a “server down” message can be made in a way that is as note worthy and remarkable, why are people struggling with understanding what “social media” is all about.

* P.S: If you want to know the name of the crazy song stuck in my head, it’s Jogi by Punjabi MC. Don’t judge me! :P

Learn Social Media by Example: The Zack16 Campaign

The Meet Zack Campaign by Leo Burnett USA is quite the fascinating and boundary decimating campaign. It really pushes the limits of what kind of approach a marketing campaign can take and it blurs the lines of what is an ad.
