10 Tips to Make Your Content Unique, Fresh & Attractive!

Anyone can write, but not everyone can write for the web! Although this seems to be a given, you can still find web content which is weak, repetitive and even dull.

Writing for the Web

Writing for the Web

Whatever your website is, I believe that there is always a way to keep your content fresh, unique and attractive and through research and experience, I will summarize to you how to do so using 10 simple tips.

1. Specialize:

When writing for the web, try to choose a theme and stick to it in order to attract the right audience and gain their loyalty. This also helps you get a reputation for the things you do best. Specialization on the web is very crucial for your success. Look at what Mashable is doing!

2. Read & Research:

It is important to be knowledgeable about your field of work, however, it is also important to know what has been written about what in general. This can be especially helpful when you plan to write a post on your blog since it helps you avoid repetition and bring a new twist to the topic at hand.

3. Provide Proof:

Whenever possible, try to provide proof when you are attempting to convince your audience with something. Links and referrals can positively influence your content since they help support your point of view and make your content more credible.

4. Focus on Structure:

According to Google’s advice, it is very important to use an average of 10 words per sentence, 1-4 sentence paragraphs as well as lists and bullets within the post you are writing and whenever it is possible. This is important because it helps with SEO and your overall website ranking.

The Molson Canadian Intern for a Day Contest

Molson Canadian Logo

When Molson saw that its male legal-drinking-age-to-29 target was spending more time on social media sites like Facebook, the brewer wanted to test this channel to connect with its consumers.

This was Molson’s second attempt after their first attempt failed miserably!

Ideas & Objectives:

To avoid backlash and/or low acceptance of brands and advertising, Mediaedge:cia and Molson conducted an in-depth analysis, observing and interacting with consumers live within Facebook.

Based on their findings, they developed a plan for two sponsored groups, one for Molson Canadian and one for Coors Light. In exchange for a media commitment to drive traffic to these groups, Facebook provided full access to back-end data and programming resources, category exclusivity and assistance in the creation of a new age-verification method linked directly to users’ profile data.

The Molson Canadian Intern for a Day Contest encouraged users to upload video applications that were voted on by the group’s members. The Coors Light Name that Caption contest invited users to post captions for an off-the-wall picture, and received over 800 posts. The Coors Light Action Sports Video contest asked users to post videos of action sports feats, and the winner was featured on MTV.ca.
